A True Friend …

Wondering who your true friends are? They are the beautiful brave souls who walk alongside us during the best and worst of times, love our light and accept our darkness, celebrate our successes and joy and most importantly they are the warriors in our lives who have the courage to step up to confront us when we are royally fucking up and then they suit-up to help us slay the dragons as we are righting our wrong. Because a true friend loves us completely and always, they will never abandon us no matter how rough the journey and never ever enable our bullshit.

Divinely Anointed …

It is through the process of ‘struggling’ that we are compelled to tap into our potential, to breathe life into our dormant abilities and to do things we never thought possible. Struggling is an opportunity to exercise our courage, to become mentally and emotionally stronger, and most importantly to deepen our trust in ourselves. When a challenge emerges in our lives we need to own it, leap into the fray and move through it the best that we can. Turning away from or giving up in the midst of struggling is a natural response however, we are inherently entitled for more than what desertion could ever offer us, we are divinely anointed to be the victorious heroine or hero of our own story.

Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda …

LS3D-WCS (2)

‘Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda’ … three of the saddest words uttered throughout the ages … 3 words that cause our greatest grief and anxiety … they are the socially unacceptable words of regret … the misgivings we have shoved down … the remorse we pretend doesn’t exist … we all have them … moments when we cautiously withdrew from someone or something because we were afraid of being rejected, of failing, looking foolish … they are the life defining moments we defensively, justifiably, self-righteously took a detour from and headed into a new direction … believing we are ‘now’ safe … yet as we journey on our new path we quietly carry our invisible baggage of shame, guilt and self-loathing, mumbling I ‘Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda’…

A recent survey by Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America found that roughly one-third (32%) of Americans regret major choices in their lives.

Happy Newsflash … it’s never late to dump our baggage … to embrace our innocence … our vulnerabilities … to acknowledge that we did our best with what we knew at the time … to exercise our courage …. to step up and smash our ‘Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda’… to either do the ‘ it’ … or … to forgive ourselves … for our past misguided decisions … at this juncture we can’t fool ourselves … we know what to do for ‘done’ to pop.

Reconciliation …

Toronto-20160626-01272 (1)

This morning as I am walking along the shores of Lake Ontario, I come across a quarried boulder with RECONCILATION etched on its one side. A fallen white tissue positioned just so in front of it. As I sit on this boulder … now my boulder … observing the hypnotizing ebb and flow of the lake … reconciliation begins to whisper … promising love, peace and joy … slowly shape-shifting into a bridge of hope … beckoning to cross over to grace … rumbling thoughts of reconciliation begin to roll through my mind … crushing illusions of fear … soothing anger … commanding to stand down … as I begin to loosen and relax … forgiveness purifies my guilt … our guilt … my eyes mist, tears flow … my heart breaks open … hmm … am I brave enough?  I continue on my walk … seeking courage.
