Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking
so that other people won’t feel insecure around you.
We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
~ Marianne Williamson
When do I tend to give myself permission to shine?
When do I tend to play small…what am I afraid of?
What core beliefs drive my shrinking and shining patterns?
How would I define my light…what are my strengths, my gifts and talents, my purpose and passion?
How does my presence uplift and inspire people?
The Power Experiment:
Write down 100 qualities that you love, respect or appreciate about yourself (yes, you do have at least 100).
For 21 consecutive days, read out-loud your 100 qualities and begin to feel the gloriousness of who you truly are.
Throughout the course of a week in a non-judgmental manner, observe how you shrink or shine in different situations.
Ask yourself if you are willing and ready to change…to shine more and shrink less.
If you are willing and ready to change, then from a place of loving kindness, service and a deep desire to add value, begin to show up more fully and observe how your presence, your words, your deeds empowers and inspires others to do the same.
Sharing our triumphant stories of how we have succeeded in a personal or professional situation can positively inspire men and women to take action for themselves which in turn creates ripples of enlightenment, empowerment and transformation worldwide. In the comments section, I invite you to share your experience of liberating yourself from your own fears and how your life, work and leadership has changed for the better. Thank you for sharing and choosing to make a difference.
